Amelia Tait is a British writer who grew up in North Yorkshire and built her career as a freelance features journalist, writing on culture and trends for the likes of the Guardian, the New York Times and the New Statesman, and humour for the New Yorker and McSweeney's; she was named in Forbes' 30 Under 30 in Europe. Drawing on the nine diaries she kept as a teenager, her debut children's novel, Lily Tripp: Diary of an Accidental Time Traveller, launches a funny time-slip series in which almost-thirteen-year-old Lily wakes each New Year's Day in a different century, dragging her family, best friend and secret crush through history, always the only one who knows what is happening.
