Cookie policy
The cookies we use, and why.
A small, plain-English list of what we store on your device, what each thing is for, and how to change your mind whenever you like.

Our approach
We only set cookies that earn their place, and we ask first. When you arrive, nothing non-essential is stored until you choose. You can accept or reject with equal ease — rejecting is exactly as quick as accepting, and the whole site works just the same either way. We apply this opt-in standard to everyone, wherever you are in the world.
The full list
| Name | What it does | Type | Needs consent? | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
omb_consent | Remembers your cookie choice so we don’t ask again. | Strictly necessary | No — it stores the choice itself | 6 months, then we ask again |
omb_sid | Tells one visit apart from the next, so we can count sessions. | Analytics | Yes | 30 minutes (rolling) |
omb_aid | A random id that lets us recognise a returning device — without knowing who you are. | Analytics | Yes | 13 months |
omb_internal | Lets us leave our own visits out of the figures. | Functional | No | 1 year |
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics — only loads if you accept. | Analytics | Yes | 13 months |
If you reject, or do nothing
You get no analytics cookies at all. We still keep a few anonymous, device-free counts of how the site is used overall — pages served, searches run — but these carry no identifier for you, no session, and no IP address. We never write IP addresses into our analytics.
Changing your mind
Use the Cookie preferences link in the footer of any page to reopen the choice at any time. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser’s settings. For the fuller picture of what we collect and why, see our privacy policy.
