Andrea Antinori: an award-winning Italian illustrator whose playful, curious line turns science and the natural world into pure looking-and-wondering pleasure.

Andrea Antinori is an Italian illustrator, born in Recanati in 1992 and now based in Bologna, who trained at ISIA Urbino and the Escola Massana in Barcelona. He both writes and illustrates his own picture books, among them The Lives of Lemurs and A Book About Whales, and lends his playful, distinctive line to work by other authors, including Anne Richardson's counting book Octopuses Have Zero Bones. His pages are witty and inquisitive, full of animals and the natural world, and they treat facts and wonder as the same pleasure. A frequent presence at the Bologna Children's Book Fair, his work marries a graphic-novel sensibility with real scientific curiosity, making him a natural fit for children who love to look closely and ask questions.
