Anita Mangan: a British illustrator whose bold, scrapbook-style artwork powers the gleefully silly comedies she makes with her brother Stephen Mangan.

Anita Mangan is a British graphic designer and illustrator who has designed or illustrated well over eighty books, bringing a bold, playful, cut-and-paste energy to children's comedy. Trained at Camberwell College of Arts, she has a distinctive scrapbook style of hand-lettering, collage and riotous cartooning. In the corpus she illustrates the gleefully silly, fully illustrated stories she makes with her brother, the actor Stephen Mangan, The Fart that Changed the World and The Day I Fell Down the Toilet, filling every page with exuberant artwork built for reading aloud and tempting reluctant readers. Her exuberant, gag-packed illustration is a natural fit for high-energy, laugh-out-loud stories for newly confident readers of seven and up.
