Ben Joel Price is a London-born author, illustrator and graphic designer whose picture books pair bold, graphic artwork with a mischievous sense of the macabre. He writes and illustrates his own titles, among them The Monstrous Tale of Celery Crumble and Earth Space Moon Base, published across Oxford University Press and Penguin Random House, and also runs an independent greetings-card and stationery studio. His eerie chapter-head illustrations for Jack Mackay's middle-grade horror Gloam show the shadowy side of his line, lending fog and foreboding to a story of grief and sibling courage. Price's sensibility runs to the darkly funny and the slightly sinister, making him a natural fit for young readers who like their books with a shiver in them.
