Billy Partridge: an Edinburgh-based author-illustrator whose whimsical, Ghibli-flavoured Hupo graphic novels are a warm-hearted celebration of courage, imagination and being your loud, full self.

Billy Partridge is a British author-illustrator based in Edinburgh, and a graduate of Leeds Arts University. He made his debut with Hupo and the Wonder Thief (Flying Eye Books, 2025), a whimsical middle-grade graphic novel about a small creature with an enormous personality who longs for adventure and finds one when a joy-stealing mist creeps over his town. Its sequel, Hupo and the Doom Lagoon, follows Hupo to a lagoon where fears can be sunk and lost forever. Drawing on folklore, nature and the influence of Studio Ghibli, Partridge fills his pages with warmth, humour and gorgeously detailed art, telling stories about courage, imagination and the freedom of being unapologetically yourself.
