Charley Rabbit is a Bath-based author-illustrator who came to children's books from a successful greetings-card range stocked in hundreds of UK retailers. Her debut, Monsieur Mustard: The Disappearance of Fabio Fangtooth, launches a highly illustrated detective series starring a dapper, diminutive Parisian mouse who cannot resist a mystery. Blending illustrated chapter book and full graphic-novel pages, it is stuffed with colour artwork and gloriously odd supporting characters, from a flatulent shrew master-of-disguise to a food-obsessed inventor. Rabbit writes and illustrates her own work in a funny, fast-paced, comic-strip-studded style built for newly confident readers who love a mystery with plenty to look at.
