Chloe Savage is a British author-illustrator who worked for years in opera, film and television before taking the MA in Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art. Her picture book The Search for the Giant Arctic Jellyfish won the Waterstones Children's Book Prize for Best Illustrated Book in 2024 and was shortlisted for the Yoto Carnegie Medal for Illustration — a warm, funny expedition story whose exquisite ink-and-watercolour spreads let the reader in on a secret the crew keep missing. Savage writes and illustrates her own work in a richly detailed style that rewards close, repeated looking, celebrating curiosity, patience and the quiet magic of the natural world.
