Daniela Sosa: author-illustrator of Friends and The Suitcase — soft, sunlit picture books about friendship, family and nature, perfect gentle read-alouds for 3–7s.
Daniela Sosa is a picture-book author-illustrator, originally from Romania and now based in Cambridge, England, where she graduated from the Cambridge School of Art's children's book illustration master's course. Her soft, sunlit artwork carries gentle, resonant stories about the everyday warmth of childhood. Her debut, Friends, is an inclusive celebration of friendship in all its forms; The Suitcase follows a boy who discovers his grandparents' adventurous past in an attic case; and Some Days reassures young readers that every kind of day has something worth noticing. She also writes quietly green non-fiction, including the practical first gardening book Growing Green and the counting story Giant Parsnip Soup. Across her work, Sosa returns to friendship, kindness, community, nature and the bonds between generations, making her books ideal read-alouds for starting nursery or school and for talking about connection and belonging.
