Ekaterina Trukhan: an author-illustrator of calm, cosy first-nature picture books whose National Trust seasons quartet gives toddlers a whole year to spot, name and love.
Ekaterina Trukhan is an author-illustrator of picture books for the very youngest readers, a graduate of Camberwell College of Arts in London. Her warm, uncluttered artwork and gentle spot-and-find style suit toddlers just beginning to name the world around them. For Nosy Crow, in partnership with the National Trust, she created the My Favourite Seasons quartet — When Spring Comes, When Summer Comes, When Autumn Comes and When Winter Comes — following one small child through the sights and sounds of each season, with something to spot on every page. She has also made the interactive National Trust: The Great Big Egg Hunt. Calm, cosy and quietly celebratory of the natural world, Trukhan's books are ideal first-nature sharing for babies and toddlers, simple enough for the smallest laps yet rich enough to return to again and again.
