Miguel Ordóñez.
Illustrator · Spain
A Madrid-based illustrator with a bold, colour-saturated comic style, behind The Eyebrows of Doom and New York Times bestsellers like Your Baby's First Word Will Be Dada.
Miguel Ordóñez is a Spanish illustrator based in Madrid, where he trained in illustration before studying graphic design at Central Saint Martins in London. His bold, graphic, colour-saturated style has illustrated picture books for publishers across Spain, the UK and the US, including Steve Smallman's gleefully daft The Eyebrows of Doom. His expressive, punchy artwork is perfectly suited to over-the-top comic nonsense, giving the fuzzy would-be tyrants and long-suffering animals of that book their irresistible read-aloud energy. Two of his American titles, among them Jimmy Fallon's Your Baby's First Word Will Be Dada, have reached the New York Times bestseller list, and his work has been honoured by the American Society of Illustrators. A confident, joyful illustrator of comedy for the very young.
