Illustrator · United Kingdom

Nikki Dyson: a prolific Usborne illustrator whose bright, characterful artwork fills busy board books and comic non-fiction, from 1000 Things Under the Sea to a queue of very silly animals.

Nikki Dyson is a British children's book illustrator based in Swindon, working since graduating in 2006 across an impressively wide range of publishers including Usborne, Macmillan, Walker, Nosy Crow and National Geographic Kids. She is perhaps best known for her bright, busy Usborne board and novelty books such as 1000 Things Under the Sea and 199 Things Under the Sea, as well as the Penguin and Pup stories, but her range takes in early readers and comic non-fiction like Kes Gray's You're Called What?!. Dyson's style is clean, warm and full of character, equally at home guiding a toddler through a spot-and-count spread or giving a fed-up blobfish a properly exasperated face. Her work is a friendly, approachable staple for the very young, blending gentle humour with an eye for the odd and the informative.
