Ruth Robbins (1917–2003) was an American illustrator best known to children's-book readers as the illustrator of the original 1968 edition of Ursula K. Le Guin's A Wizard of Earthsea, providing the iconic spot illustrations and map that defined the book's first generation of readers. Robbins also wrote and illustrated her own picture books, including the Caldecott Medal-winning Baboushka and the Three Kings (1960, illustrated by Nicolas Sidjakov). A canonical mid-twentieth-century American picture-book illustrator.
