A prolific British author-illustrator of more than fifty picture books, from the stage-adapted Lamb Who Came to Dinner to the gleefully silly Eyebrows of Doom, and a dependable name in warm, funny read-alouds.

Steve Smallman is a hugely prolific British author-illustrator who has been making children's books for over three decades. He illustrated hundreds of titles, including the whole of Longman's Story Street reading scheme, before turning to writing, and has since produced more than fifty of his own picture books. His breakout, The Lamb Who Came to Dinner, was shortlisted for the Red House Book Award and adapted for the stage, while Smelly Peter, the Great Pea Eater won the Sheffield Children's Book Award. His recent The Eyebrows of Doom, illustrated by Miguel Ordonez, is gleefully daft comic nonsense about two fuzzy slugs bent on world domination. Fast, funny and warm, Smallman's read-alouds are reliably built to have small listeners giggling and demanding them again.
