The shape of it

The shape of this universe.

Bumble and Snug is Mark Bradley's colourful early graphic novel franchise about two best friends who are Bugbops: little creature-people with big feelings and bigger misunderstandings. The books are funny, friendly and very readable, but their real value is emotional clarity. Each adventure wraps a common childhood feeling inside a bright fantasy problem, from anger and excitement to shyness, jealousy and worry. It is an excellent bridge between picture books and longer comics, especially for children who need help naming feelings but do not want a book that feels like a lesson.
