The shape of it
The shape of this universe.
Dave Pigeon is Swapna Haddow and Sheena Dempsey's illustrated comedy franchise about a self-important pigeon, his long-suffering friend Skipper, and a world of humans, cats, kittens, turkeys, zombies, nuggets and general feathered nonsense. It is a strong UK early chapter-book choice for reluctant readers: short chapters, funny illustrations, direct address, silly plans and a narrator with a huge opinion of himself. The books are light, warm and very readable, with enough friendship and kindness underneath the chaos to stop Dave becoming merely annoying.
A very funny illustrated chapter-book series about a boastful pigeon, his sensible friend and a lot of ridiculous urban-animal chaos.
