The shape of it
The shape of this universe.
Gordon the Meanest Goose on Earth is Alex Latimer's highly illustrated early chapter-book franchise about a goose who used to be spectacularly mean and is now trying, with mixed success, to become good. The books turn behaviour, temper, rivalry, patience, competitiveness and saying sorry into broad animal comedy. Gordon is funny because he is excessive: honking, hissing, showing off, sulking and overreacting. But the series is not cynical. Under the silliness is a very useful emotional idea for young readers: changing your behaviour is hard, and wanting to be better is only the first step.
A very funny illustrated chapter-book series about a formerly mean goose trying to be good, with lots of honking, chaos and useful behaviour themes.
