The shape of it

The shape of this universe.

Llama Quest is a young chapter-book fantasy series written by Megan Reyes and illustrated by Kay Davault, published by Random House Books for Young Readers from 2025. Two kids, Dak and Fenn, and their talking magical llama, Lucy, travel the kingdom of Ravenwood hunting for missing magical stones, with each book taking the trio to a new setting (a dragons' den, Starfall Forest, a region rocked by earthquakes, an ocean inhabited by a sea monster). The format is the cosy fantasy quest done at chapter-book scale: short chapters, plentiful illustration, a recurring friend trio, and adventures that resolve cleanly inside each volume. Pitched at children who have outgrown easy readers but aren't yet ready for middle-grade fantasy.
