Paige Walshe is a Canadian author-illustrator and character designer from Montreal, whose debut graphic novel, Froggy: A Pond Full of Pals! (2025), announced a bright new voice in comics for younger readers. Both written and drawn by Walshe, the Froggy books follow a small, clumsy frog who leaves his village behind and tumbles into an ancient pond full of wonderful oddballs, learning to handle big feelings, big magic and the joy of good friends. Her style is expressive and welcoming, with a cheery palette and sharp comic timing that make these ideal early graphic novels for fans of Frog and Toad and Narwhal and Jelly. The first title won the American Library Association's inaugural Outstanding Comics for Children Award, and the series continues with the cosy, autumnal Froggy: Autumn Antics!.
