The shape of it

The shape of this universe.

Warriors is Erin Hunter's long-running cat-clan fantasy collection, represented here by HarperAlley's full-colour graphic novel adaptations, which take the saga one arc at a time. The sequence opens with The Prophecies Begin, following house cat Rusty as he enters the world of ThunderClan and becomes Firepaw, discovering a forest society shaped by loyalty, rivalry, prophecy, territory, violence and survival. It continues into The New Prophecy, in which the Clans' forest home comes under threat and a handful of young warriors are called away on a perilous journey. The graphic novel format makes the story more visually accessible than the prose saga, but the content is still not soft animal fiction: clan battles, deaths, injuries and animal peril are central to the appeal.
